Full-Time Students

Your primary responsibility as an F-1 or J-1 student is to pursue your academic studies as authorized, and only as authorized. Any circumstances that may change your current program, limit your ability to make normal progress, or represent new opportunities will require additional authorization and/or documentation.

When determining eligibility for F-1 and J-1 benefits, including employment authorization and program changes, the International Services Office (ISO) will review your immigration record in conjunction with the opportunities available through your academic department or division. ISO makes every effort to support your personal and academic objectives, but must also conform to US government regulations and University policy.

Requirements and Program Updates

Immigration Permissions Vary by Individual

The details of your individual situation largely determine what immigration options are available to you. Students often discuss their experiences and compare understandings of the requirements and opportunities of US student visa programs. However, please remember that no two students share exactly the same circumstances and may face different immigration rules as a result!
