Alert! During the COVID-19 health emergency, ISO services & advising are shifted to a virtual environment.  Appointment hours and other advising services remain available, but will only be accessible via phone, email, or Zoom platform.  Until further notice, ISO's Main Office & Satellite locations are NOT operational or staffed.  Please contact the appropriate staff below for assistance in scheduling or other concerns.

After-Hours Emergencies

If you are experiencing an immigration or personal emergency when the office is closed, please phone UR Public Safety at +1 (585) 275-3333 and the ISO staff member on-call will be notified.  This does not include requests for updated immigration documents or travel signatures, since we are unable to provide these outside of normal office hours.

    * For May/June/July 2021: On Wednesdays, the office will focus on internal operations for staff to invest targeted time on casework, document issuance, and related coordination with students and departments. While we are closed for phone calls, appointments, drop-ins, and routine inquiries, we will remain responsive to emergencies. 

  • Advising Appointments & Drop-In Advising

    Appointments are required to speak with an advisor or to address detailed questions or concerns. Same-day appointments cannot typically be accommodated, so please schedule at least one day in advance. Advisor appointments typically last about 30 minutes.

    ISO Student Services: Drop-In Advising Hours

    During Drop-In Hours, an ISO Student Advisor is available to answer quick questions and to review documentation for travel, benefit applications, and more. An average consultation lasts about 5–10 minutes. For more complicated questions, we will schedule a follow-up appointment.

 

Please Note: ISO Student Services Advisors assist nonimmigrant students who enroll full-time or otherwise pursue specific academic objectives, with or without matriculation to a University degree program. Non-University-sponsored students from Fulbright and other organizations are also supported. ISO Scholar Services Advisors assist temporary nonimmigrant workers who engage in authorized employment or self-sponsored research activities at the University.
